PAMPOROVO

Pamporovo is a mountain resort in Bulgaria. It is located in the interior of the Rhodopes at 1650 m above sea level, at the foot of Snezhanka peak. It is located on the territory of Smolyan Municipality and Chepelare Municipality, 229 km from the capital Sofia, 81 km south of Plovdiv.
The climate in the region of Pamporovo is characterized by mild winters, in which there are over 100 sunny days. The resort ranks first on sunny days among all mountain resorts in Bulgaria. The average annual temperature is 5.5 ° C.
The main tourist flow to Pamporovo is during the winter months, because the resort is suitable mainly for skiing. Almost all ski slopes in the resort start from Snezhanka peak, and their altitude is from 1926 m to 1400 m. The tourist season begins in December and lasts almost until the end of April.
Due to the beautiful nature the area is visited by tourists during the summer months. Snezhanka Peak is among the Hundred National Tourist Sites.
Since 2012, a specialized park for mountain biking has been operating on the territory of Pamporovo resort and today it is the largest in the Balkans.
